    Parteipresse Hauptschriftleiter

An armband never seen: Party Press Chief Editor is the only known example for the Party Press organization. Angolia's "Cloth Insignia of the NSDAP and SA" has only a line drawing depiction on page 101. Gold Braid and lettering with remnants of the RZM tag on the inside.

Note the copy of the 1935 regulations for these, which states these were only to be issued in very limited quantities. They were only worn by the very top party press leaders at official receptions with other dignitaries.

Jeff---Phenomenal piece. Would this be worn over the Party armband, or on the forearm?

Amazing high quality piece! Interestingly, it looks like the obsolete SA long service chevron Tresse was used for these.

                            Great armband.

I know that for example for a journalist, being a member from the SA such an armband was allowed to be worn during actual activities as a journalist, to be worn with the Greater Service-Dress at the left lower arm, just above the Tresse cuffband(s) for old service or an eventual special cuffband. With the smaller Service-dress and with the greatcoat the armband had to be worn just above the cuff from the tunic of greatcoat.

The journalist had to be a member from the NSDAP and had to be two years in active service (this was a condition. The armband was also allowed to be worn when wearing civil.
The journalists were given special permits by the Reichspressestelle. The permit mentioned what form of armband was allowed to be worn: Hauptschriftleiter or Schriftleiter. When wearing such an armband the "guards" that blocked the streets or grounds for the festivity or occasion had to let go through the journalist. When Hitler attended, there must have been another regulation about passing, but this is not known to me! I thought they had then received a letter of invitation.
