Patch - Need ID'

1. Cloth - Measures about 3 3/8" x 5 3/4"

[Silesien]

It is the early-style German Army Sport Vest Insignia used by the Reichsheer & during the early National-Socialist period, until the introduction of the wider insignia with the big eagle & swastika. Was worn on the vest on the front of the chest. For a foto of one in wear, see foto 104. on pg 58 of "German Army Uniforms/Insignia" by B.L. Davis; which shows it worn during the Reichswehr Sports Festival in Berlin Moabit 1934. Don't you own any reference books at all???

Thanks for the information. I have some reference books , but, none showed that insignia. I collected from the late 70's until the mid-80's. Sold everything, including the reference book up to that time. Now that I got back into German items, I have gotten some of the old ones back. Thanks again and have a nice day! CHUCK

Just to add alittle....these are alot scarcer than the "eagle style" but under valued (no swas.) to many....

A nice example should be in the $100.00 range IMO....though I've seen them for alot less....and alot more!
