The only 2nd Pattern SA Kepi eagles I know of are the M-1936 short-wing version and the long-wing version. Collector's Guild lists the long-winged versions as M-1939's. Does anyone know exactly how many different 2nd-pattern SA kepi eagles were worn, and their differences? Am I correct to assume that the nickel-silver on tombac versions were the earliest, followed by aluminum, and later, zinc? Any illumination on this subject would be appreciated.
