OPINIONS about a Hitler Jugend "Transvere flute" ( Querflöte)

    Hi guy's

I can buy this item which can be very interesting but I do not know if it is original.

It is a Transvere flute or what the Germans call a "querflöte". According to the seller it has been used by the Hitlerjugend.

    What are your opinions. ??

    Thanks in advance.

            Flute

Most, if not all, Hitler Jugend items were RZM marked. Early RZM marks consisted of "RZM" and an accompanying mfg. code number. Later items had "RZM" and in the case of musical instruments, the designation "M10/" + mfg. code number. It's entirely probable that HJ units also used instruments devoid of markings. But it would be a real stretch to call any instrument an "HJ Instrument" without the proper markings, IMO.

That is what I thought too but this one has no markings at all.
It might be one from the forties but probably a civillian one and that is what we don't collect.

Thanks for the info so far.

The flute without markings is still in use today by German marching bands (Spielmannszügen).

Agree-the only HJ fifes that can definitely be attributed would be RZM maker marked and have an impressed HJ diamond. The first example posted here is most likely one of the numerous examples that pop up on German ebay--I wouldn't buy that one for more than €25.00.

Thanks for the info and the clear pictures.
Now I know that I will not buy that flute.

Keep up the good work !!!!!!

That is, more accurately a fife, not a flute.
