      Hi Philippe,

Thanks for sharing your SA kepi with us. It appears to be of the earliest kepi design, from prior to the advent of the colored tops. What is curious to me is the presence of an RZM tag, since this style of kepi came in about 1931, before the RZM was developed and installing tags into/onto every manner of thing official. I'll be interested to read other collectors' comments.

I saw an identical cap at the last MAX show. It was dirt cheap. I was pretty unsure about it so I let it sit. I think it was still there when I left. I hope someone can help you out.

Nice one, ivbaust. Yours is almost identical to mine, which is also without the RZM tag.

It is likely your kepi belonged to a SA man attached to duties not associated with any SA Gruppe such as the RZM. Attached are pictures of a similar kepi of officer grade with an early RZM tag. This practice was likely discontinued quite early having such postings become part of the OSAF.

                      Thanks for your answer
j have found your thread about it
in this post when you say "The scenario as outlined in the book as an official of the R Z M is most plausible to me"
that's mean this man (about my kepi) could have is job inside the RZM ?
                      best regards
                      Philippe.

It's also very possible that the kepi had a snap in or tacked wool color band which was subsequently removed (post war) due to mothing. I've had several with tacked mothed wool bands.

Is it possible to have a picture of the inside of those early SA kepi ? I want to see how the eagle is attached.

Also, as I look for one, I would like to know what could be the price of one ?
