NSKK Drivers Badge question

Would appreciate some advice on this 1st Pattern Drivers Diamond. I've never seen one with bullion around the outside as well the diamon appears to have been in the sun a long time as it's quite faded. As always your opinions are valued.

Thanks Ricardo I've never seen a piped version. That makes me feel more optimistic.
Anyone else have experience with one of these?
