Is that the Visor cap of ADOLF HITLER, really???

Really, or is it a good fake?

Not a genuine one. It's a fake made by Michael Janke in germany, and it has been artificially aged.

If this was a genuine piece and where to be auctioned it would be listed at a more serious auction house.

One detail that immediately stuck out for me is that the piping on the cap band appears to be of white cloth while the piping on the top is in gilt wire.

Another important difference is the head of the eagle.

On an original piece the head does not look to the right or to the left side, it just looks straight ahead.

Very interesting; thanks guys! I didn't know that the head on Hitler's cap eagle looked straight on; was that the same for his left sleeve eagle, as well? And thanks, too, to Stonemint for his link, though from the pix there it looks like Hitler's cap band piping actually was white and not gilt. Is that corroborated through any other source? Thanks again; always learning!

I've been looking at AH photos and can't see a cap eagle looking straight on anywhere. Where does that info come from?

Close ups of wartime uniforms show his arm and cap eagle facing right.

                  That info came from me.

I will check again next time and perhaps should take a pic of it.

The closeup photos I've seen, in which the eagle's head is clearly discernable, all have the head facing the viewer's right. That goes for both the brown and the field grey visors.

Any idea why the cap band piping didn't match the top piping?
