Shoulderboard

SA Shoulderboard for ranks: SA-Oberfuhrer thru SA-Obergruppenfuhrer, which were General-grade ranks. . The Bright Red underlay indicated "Staff" assignment. However, according to Angolia's book, on 1 July 1943, the underlay for ALL wearer's of this rank was changed to Bright Red, regardless of assignment. I don't believe there's a known explanation or regulation for the pips, although a vet-acquired shoulderboard like this (with 2 pips) is pictured in the same Angolia book. Note: The ONLY SA regulation I know of that designates pips on a shoulderboard are Wehrmannschaften regulations.
