NDSAP Ortsgruppe Hauptgemeinschaftsleiter TAB??

This is an interesting one... Pulled this out of my collection to index. I spent hours looking this up on the net and the highest rank I can find is the Ortsgruppe Hauptgemeinschaftsleiter. I have found others exactly like this patch, 2 yellow stripes but with 4 of the emblems. This has 5. There is not such rank I can locate and I have even searched through www.nsdapuniforms.com and looked up this rank sheet on wikipedia...

By all accounts this appears to be a real collar tab. However, I am suspect of the rank.. I wonder if someone put on an extra metal device?? any inputs would be appreciated... Thank you! Rommel

Hi. Its a non-existing rank indeed.
Otherwise, the tab looks original to me.

Thank you Alex for the quick reply.. It is odd... I believe I bought a real tab with legit metal... I just dont know what to do with it - Leave it alone or pull out the middle pin? There would be holes so it might look worst...

Middle one's patina seems darker too.

Yes, an original tab with original hardware....and yes too many "pips" so to speak....one too many...if you look at the reverse of the tab in the center, as already observed, the center pip prongs are a little darker than all the other 2 prong holders. However, this is an excellent and original orts level NSDAP tab with original hardware....and the best thing to do is to leave it "as is" "as found". It would damage the value of the tab more at this stage to deconstruct it. Who knows, maybe the hauptgemeinshaftsleiter thought he deserved a Volksturm promotion towards the EndSieg in 1945 ;>)

Bob, Thank you for the advice.. I thought the same thing!!! I thought they guy might have felt, "well I am owed more than just 4 Pips.. If I am doing out I want to be a Volksturm!!!
