    Political leaders armband

Found this one which is a bit unusual and was hoping for some opinions please. Its very thickly embroidered in gold bullion and the interior has been fully lined in red cotton. There are hooks and eyes along the edge rather than sewn together. Ok or junk?

    Many thanks

sorry.. i was looking thru the whole forum.

aside from the bullion work being wrong..the oakleaves are not applied directly to the wool.

they're embroidered onto a separate piece of fabric and applied to the armband

also the swastika material is wrong.

But not all were made the same.

you're right... but that is wrong on so many levels.

you''ll never see bulging oakleaves like that on either version.. nor directly applied.

and the swastika will be either machine woven or a ribbon folded over itself at the arms.

Thanks for the opinions so far guys, another member was kind enough to point out this old thread to me where there is an identical one discussed.

Possibly privately made in small numbers outside RZM?

                    no, i'm sorry. it's a repro.

if any self respecting kreisleiter paid for an armband from a private maker and was handed this, he'd have the man shot.

                    i know i would.

I agree. Apart from the red wool and white piping, none of the materials used looks convincing or correct to me, and the piping should be attached to the band with red vs. white thread. I disagree about variations- these (4th pattern insignia) were HIGHLY standardized, and the only variations I've seen were in the use of bullion or celeon, everything else being identical. I've never seen a period pic of a variation like this.
