    Gauleiter's Coat

    Hello Guys,

Here's a nice coat i just got. Not yet identified by working on it. Armband was removed and replaced by a volksturm armband by the Gauleiter at the end of the war.

From all the Gauleiter tunic's i have seen, i have never seen another coat.

                Thanks Jon-Olav,

Nice original PL Mantel , but IMO are the collar tabs not period sewn on the collar.

Don't think a "Gauleiter" is wearing an EM/NCO quality overcoat

In everage are this men wearing high quality tailor made uniforms.

Are the "Gauleiter" tabs originals ? could be ! I don't know, let's read about that from other PL experts.

                  Thank you Pascal !

Personally i believe this piece is untouched. A friend of mine owns Gauleiter Joseph Grohé's tunic, and that one is just a standard NSDAP tunic, no tailor tag or some fancy quality. And that one came straight out the veterans family right after the war.

I think its FINE.Not all high ranking officers were wealthy. Many NCO or issued material to high officers during TR period, not unusual.

Thank you very much gentlemen !

The coat is attributed to Hinrich Lohse.

Do you have the Volksturm armband that went it? If so, I would restore it to the jacket- there are a few pics of Gauleiters and other high ranking Party Officials fighting with the Volksturm in the final days of the defence of the Reich...
