    RMBO or SA ?

    M43 on the E-stand :

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=528278

    IMO it's a RMBO M43 with SA eagle, not a SA-OFFICER M43

Not the right SA fabric color and wrong cut, a typical RMBO cut witout front button...

    thoughts are welcome

    Pascal I believe you're correct.
    1) no buttons
    2) orange brown colored wool
    3) interior material greenish (also found in a brownish).
    4) also offered with silver piping for upper pay groups.(also none OR gold).
came out in 1943. ussually maker marked & dated.
also can be found with the side & rear of the ear flap having natural sheep's
    wool or fur affixed.
Still might be a period item ,not post war put together. jeff

Think so too, but it's perhaps not post war put together...

I would tend to agree--I haven't seen any photos or documentation that the buttonless field cap was intended to be worn by the SA.
