Just back from Münster to get this shield

Just got back from the city of Münster to get this one: a very nice NSDAP "Hier spricht..."shield. Wanted something for my room and found this one. I've seen them with a lot of rust and bullit holes, but this one's in a very nice condition!

I'm not up on these but must say they are heavily faked and turn up at UK shows all the time. Do you have experiance with them?

How does the reverese look like? Does it still have traces of the paper with guidelines of how to install the plate properly?

      Regards, Wim

        Hi Jon,

I've seen sevaral & had 2 originals the last 20 years and this one is the best I've ever had...of course it's not mint, the emaille (I believe in English it's called enamel) is, especially around the lettering, nice and thick but has 2 chips (which makes it possible to see the layer of emaille), the edges have -old- rust, the whole shield is a bit warped from storage. The back is nicely stamped.

        Cheers,
        Eric

Do you have a photo of the reverse?

Indeed it seems that plates like these came with a red stamp.
I've never inspected the stamps up close.
Can you post a photo for us, please?

          Mil

I've seen a lot of faked enamel signs that are thought to have originated in the UK since the 70s or so, but never a fake "Hier spricht die NSDAP". The ones I've had over the years have had an RZM coding/year on the reverse, although I've had quite a few enameled signs so could be mixing up the reverses. That said, this one is in the best condition that I've seen in a long time. Nice!
            Festina lente!
