Look closely where the crown material meets the top front of the cap, above the emblem. Where's the piping? I never have seen construction like this. It looks like a cap for a doll. "Early" construction maybe? Even really early kepis have cotton crown piping I thought, unless maybe it's so early, it was worn with the super-early SA cape? Is it one of those?
