    SA brownshirt Oberführer

    Hi all,

I'm in the opportunity to buy this brownshirt, but I'm not sure if the selling price of 525 EUR is a fare price. What are your opinions?

Unfortunately these are the only pictures I've received.

    Thanks for your opinions!

That would be a fair price even if the insignia are replaced, provided that the insignia and medals, etc. are all original.

Are there loops for the medal bar and decorations? Others here can judge if the insignia are real. A close up of the tabs would help.

I sold a shirt without insignia with the heavy collar piping in 2007 on WAF's eStand and got several hundred dollars for it. The shirt was very similar with same copper-like toned collar piping. It also had the same cuff braid of one narrow and one wide stripe.

Here's a link that also shows a close up of the piping and braid application: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=222610

Thanks for your reply and the link! Very helpful!

      I contacted the seller...

The medal bar, the sport and the wound badge are attached with loops, the other badges not.

Unfortunately I've no close up photo's...the seller is not very handy with a digital camera but in a short time I will visit the seller to see the shirt with my own eyes

I'll see if I have other photos of the shirt. I don't remember if it had loops but, given the rank, it probably did. If you inspect the shirt, compare the stitching to the images in the link.

Based on the pictures I still have of the high officer's shirt I sold, it does not appear that it had any loops. I would check the piece you are considering buying to see if the loops are new.

I sold an identical pair of collar tabs about 5-6 years ago. To whom I do not recall.

                Shirt

The collar tabs don't appear to have been on the shirt over 70 years, and the shoulderboard button looks brand new. Draw your own conclusions.

True, and it looks like a pebbled button on the board, and it may in fact be the same shirt as sold here, but as noted by Paul, if the insignia is original it's still a cheap price.

                      Great work...

yes, that's the famous soup stain from the last Eintopfsonntag der obersten SA-Fuehrung in Bad Wiessee from June 24, 1934.

Of course, the shirt should also have the rare "Ein Reich - Ein Volk - Eintopf " tinnie from that event.

Someone always trying to pull a fast one. Is it labled as restored or original?
