May very well be from the period but christian related - so nothing to do with Third Reich intention.

I agree. Without a swastika in the design motif or some other identifiable link to the Third Reich, or even a hint of provenance, there is no way of establishing a time-frame for this communion plate's creation or use. It could well be from Bishop Ludwig Müller's "German Christian Church," which supported the NSDAP, but without any visible link...?
