    Marine HJ shirt

Hello, got a named Marine HJ shirt and cap from the same guy.

Actually the shirt looks like a regular navy shirt and it was made shorter by folding the lower part to the inside and sew it.
    The insignia are partly removed.

Now I want to restore the set and I need your help since I'm not a (marine-) HJ man...

Ofcourse the shirt needs an armband and a triangle (ghost is there), but what else?

    now my questions:

-What does the two red striped triangle means and is this linked to a certain period?
-What rank insignia can I add or is above the rank? Or is a lanyard enough, see button on left shoulder. I guess the type of rank insignia also depends to the period?

I'm particularry asking to the period since the cap had traces of an diamond and eagle above it, which was worn untill 1938 I believe, so I believe this to be an early set which needs early insignia? (first pattern triangle and Latin block capband?)

Any info/tips appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    (sorry for bad quallity pics)

      Marine-HJ set

      Good day,
Well, before you start to re-assemble the set and probably invest a bigger amount of money let's evaluate what you have. I'm actually not too sure whether this is Marine-HJ. Can you please post photos of the cap? Also from the inside, RZM tag if there, the shadows of triangle, HJ - pin etc.
Let me put it in gentle words: the shirt itself doesn't look like MHJ, more like a children's shirt of Navy-interested parents. Also the practice of fold-and-sew the lower part of a shirt is certainly not sound like a genuine MHJ short.

Hello Daniel, thanks for your reply.
You should have the set in hand, and you'll be convinced it's a marine HJ.
Here are some more and better photo's. It's hard to capture the ghost insignia on photo, especially on the cap.
        Cap and shirt are named.

You can see the ghost of the triangle; stitching and worn wool around it. Where there is a "x" like stitch was a horizontal line for probably sewing the armband to the shirt. Again color difference is much clearer when in hand.

the part that was folded inside and stitched/attached only are the flaps as far as the splits go:

The cap: was completely without insignia, but pinholes and hard to capture light ghost insignia (eagle above diamond).

The cap has a ghost of the RZM label on inside ow the sweatband:

Second photo is with attached insignia. I'm still looking for tally, but first have to determine if this is an early or later set (Latin or franktur script)

Thanks, but this one was not child navy, since it has traces of armband and triangle...

Where are the (marine) HJ specialists?
