      That's neat that he has this but it kind of makes me sad to think how much history will be lost to trash bins and flea markets when the last of these Vets finally pass and the people that inherit it don't know any better.

        I wish there was a photo of the watch because the only one seen in photos of Himmler was rectangle in shape.

          I agree that it makes one sad, but know that this is nothing new in the scheme of things. I'm certain that potentially important relics from all times and places have been trashed or resold for nothing by uneducated or uncaring relatives and have lost their place in history long ago, simply by being unrecorded. Just think of all the gold and silver implements from the Temple in Jerusalem or from Montezuma's empire in Central America that were seized by invaders and melted down into transportable blocks or coin and were never recorded as ever having existed as unique artifacts -- to name only two of countless times some version of this tragedy has taken place. Makes one think about the future of our collections today, doesn't it?
