    What is it Wallhanger???

I have never seen anything like this, have you? Smoke discolored to some extent and old, probably from the early 1930s.

Certainly looks to be home made. Maybe a project at school?. If period made (and it looks to be) then I am surprised that somebody kept for this long ... Cheers, Torsten.

I would tend to disagree in that the swastika is machine sewn and the centering of the rest is too true for a hand made piece IMO.

One won´t believe how much advertising/propaganda stuff has been produced within the period - and this piece is one of them.

May not be 3rd Reich at all.. Keep in mind that the swastika pre-dates the Nazi regime by centuies and was used as a good luck symbol in many cultures including the American Indian.

I would say it's a German piece, probably a craft done by a patriotic individual, or an early commercial decoration.

                Size

For those asking: the swastika part has a diameter of 11 inches and it measures 20 inches from the top bar to the bottom of the swastika
