Yep, an M-1927 style cap eagle in nice condition that would have been worn by PL, SA and SS as well as early NSKK. Thanks for sharing,

Mainly by looking at as many original examples as you can. There are countless variations of these early eagles, so you need to get a feel for what originals look like. That will make it easier to spot the fakes.
