party arm band question?

I am fairly new to this so do not know to much. I picked up a few things at a vets estate auction a while back and have a question on a party arm band I paid $35.00 for. All the ones I have seen on Ebann and other sites appear to be of seperate piece construction. The one I have has the party emblem totaly embroiderd. Would this be an early arm? Thanks Mike

I collect armbands, but they are a very difficult and frustrating area of 3rd Reich collecting. There are many legit variations. Early armbands are especially difficult since some were made at home by hand.

Can you post a pic of this armband?

Is the white circle stiched to the armband itself, or the swaz stiched on the white circle?

Michael, thanks for the reply. My armband appears to be made of red linen or lightwieght cotton and the white circle and the swaz are stiched in thier entirety to the red background. Thanks again. Mike

Here's the armband in question. It appears to be an SA Reserve armband, but without the grey stripes. Since we know SS armbands were also made without the black stripes and converted to party use, this is probably OK. It's worth around $40 - $50.

Yes. That type is definitely 100% original. I have one identical to it which I was given by an ex-vet who picked it up in Italy in 1945.

Party Armband

This is a good example of a standard party armband--it's not Reserve because those will always have the grey edge stripes, which are sometimes also woven into the armband cloth. There were thousands of large and small producers of armbands for the party organizations and some used silk screening to print the bands, some used separate pieces and sewed them together, some used printed swastikas on white circles sewn to the cloth body, etc. The silk screened bands appear to have been the cheapest for the original buyer to purchase; the wool bands with fancy white circle and black applied swastika seem to be the most expensive.
