Very nice and very early ashtray there Martin.

These were to advertise Sturm-Cigarettes, the cigarette company was based in Dresden and produced four brands in total: Trommler, Alarm, Sturm and Neue Front. A share of the profits being given to the SA, but it was quite short lived because the SA stopped manufacturing these in 1934, probably due to the Chefs dislike of smoking in general.

Out of interest the company was owned by Otto Wagener

Nice example--the 4 names were the 4 grades of cigarette sold by Sturm. From what I've read, the SA divested itself of the company due to the indication, later confirmed by Reich researchers, that cigarette smoking was responsible for cancer, heart attack, and other maladies. Smoking was eventually forbidden in state and public buildings. Just like in Kalifornia!

The ashtrays are not easy to find, but the few I've seen have been in the $60-75.00 range.
