A quick update: my copy arrived this afternoon and I am THOROUGHLY DELIGHTED with it! Your service to the TR collector community and to the 'sport of research' is greatly appreciated!

Just a quick and hopefully not too pathetic note to anyone who has a copy of Gauleiter... Volume I (and/or Leaders of the SS & German Police, Volume I -- Please feel free to opine on it, either here, at other forums, or, best of all, at: http://www.amazon.com/Gauleiter-Regi...s+of+the+NSDAP .

With many thanks and best wishes,
            ~ Mike

To all my fellow researchers etc.

I received my copy last week and have spent literally every night devouring the contents of this magnificent book. I know many of you out there are always clamoring for photos of the gauleiters etc. Well here is the payoff. Michael's book is nothing short of outstanding. Anyone who has his "Leaders of the SS And Police" know what I am talking about. In my view this is even better than that volume. These books are absolute musts for both the researcher and collector. Top fellow researchers such as Jeff Clark, and many others very familiar to this forum opened up their photo archives -- and you know what that means. The photos are the best you will ever see. I myself gave Michael hundreds of photos collected from the NARA etc. Most are unpublished and of the highest resolution. No WWII library should be without this book. And it is of the usual RJ Bender quality ! Do not even hesitate a moment in ordering your copy. This is the type of book that a second copy will be needed after all the use destroys the first copy !! This is the book that we have been waiting for.

Thanks so much for that endorsement, Mark, and for all that you did to bring the first volume to fruition.
                Sincerely,
                ~ Mike

I've already devoured Mike's Volume I on the Gauleiters and can't wait for Volume II and III and... It is every bit as worthy of any collector's or researcher's library as Mark Costa's eloquent comments describe it! The photos are excellent and many are unique; the level of detail found between those boards cannot be surpassed; and this three-volume series will remain a primary source document for much longer than I will live to refer to it!

Anyone merely thinking about ordering "Gauleiter, Volume I" needs to get off his/her butt and get cracking! There is so much information here, just waiting for you, that you will regret it if you wait even one more day before ordering a copy.
