    Transitional NSDAP Partiebuch

    Has anyone else seen this variation? It is a cardstock cover NSDAP Mitgliedsbuch - Ausgabe 1923 and contains 16 pages. The first hard cover NSDAP Mitgliedsbuch that I have seen is Ausgabe 1927.

    This would have to be a fairly rare piece! I believe I've seen only one of these (and indeed it could be the same one) listed for sale several years ago on a German dealer's site. Very nice!

                  1923 says it all.

                  After the new start of the party in 1925, #44172 would have been made by mid September 1926.

                    Dear friends,

                    I have to agree with Der-Hase-Fee that this appears to be an NSDAP membership book from before the Party was reconstituted in February of 1925. This is further verified by the list of memberships and years provided earlier in this thread. This is a beautiful book in its own right, with what appear to be original signatures by Hitler and also Max Amann, who was the NSDAP Business Manager at the time of the book's issuance. I would have liked to add #44172 to my GPB list but that would be disingenuous since this number comes from the previous membership series. I also checked for Karl Hinkler's name on my GPB list to see if I had a subsequent number for him, but to no avail.

                    But again, a beautiful and historic piece from the NSDAP membership period 1920-1923.
