    Unknown SA Badge

    Hello;

I've found with Detector a few SA and SS itmes in water.
Does anyone know this SA badge (Red marked) ?
Maybe from a Collar Tab ?
Other items from my findings i've posted yesterday at this thread:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=462912

SS and SA Eagles for daggers, Pastilles, Skull-Knobs, SA Sports-badges for disabled soldiers...

    Badge

I've seen a photo with a similar badge on a collar tab being worn by the SA Wehrmannschaften.

The badge is for the Verstärkter Grenzaufsichtsdienst (VGAD), wich was formed by the Brigade 6 from Danzig with the intention to guard the border.

            Thanks.
On both collar tabs or only at one side?
A picture would be fine !!
I think 18th SS Divison "Horst Wessel" had also such an SA Sign on right collar tab. I've only seen embroidered but not in metal.

              Many thanks to Laurens !

              He sent me a picture.
This picture comes from the book 'Cloth Insignia of the NSDAP and SA' by
              J. Angolia.

                Badge

Yeah - that's the same photo I was thinking of, but my mistake on the unit designation. Laurens is correct - a border surveillance unit. In fact, we have a border surveillance unit right here in the US. They don't stop anyone, of course - they just watch 'em flood across.

What kind of uniform is this man wearing? Is it brown or fieldgrey like the army? He seems to wear an army belt. Are there more known pictures of this unit?

                    Regards, Erik
