I've seen the helmets alone, but never on a bnackround , is it possible this was an ss tab with the stahlhelm added, does anybody know for sure? I look at this and it doesn't seem to have a diamond shape , but more of a parallelogram. Did the stahlhelm actually wear anything like this backround with the helmet on it?

The SA had a sleeve diamond with Stahlhelm insignia for former members of the Stahlhelm, but it's nearly always a bevo type machine woven Raute. Does the Stahlhelm emblem have a pin back or prongs? If a pin back, it looks like someone mounted the normal Abzeichen on a collar tab--whether it was done in 1935 or 2005 would be difficult to discern.

It has a pin - but its 100% original that way. What could I ask for it?

The Stahlhelm pin is worth $25.00-30.00, so I would say the insignia would go for $75.00-85.00.

Ok, thanks for the info, Erich. This badge was among the items my grand-aunt gave me some weeks ago, they once belonged to her first husband who did the year I was born.

Do you know if he was absorbed into the SA or ? Also, if you happen to find a photo of him wearing this particular insignia, the price would obviously be higher!
