I've seen fakes with a good looking obverse. Suggest you get a few more pictures.

Some details of the letters are usually good indicators.

Additionally, a shot from the side would be helpful to show how the center piece (eagle/wreath) matches the body.

the same aspect as on most fake badges as the fakers cant get the quality to the same level as a pre 45 piece , but as time goes by these fakers will only get better and better

This one looks good from the photo posted. A lot of the fake medals have the sun rays not separated from the cross arms.
