In a last attempt to understand and learn something of the quality of Gahr brooches im going to try and ask some more questions that came up while looking at the pictures of these interesting brooches:
- Can you (or anyone else) say if these are original or not, as they don't look like the quality i would expect from a Gahr brooch.
- Are there more period pictures of Gahr brooches, prefereable with pictures of the ones posted here in it? I'd like to compare some details please.
- Are these in your collection or found on the web? Does their source say they are good or bad?
- I like the more robust brooch on the left in post 2819 more than the very soft silver ones posted in the previous posts, why this big difference in quality?
I marked a few red spots on the picture you posted, look at those area's, there are VERY big mistakes in it and i could have easily marked another 50 spots (did not to don't mess the whole picture up). This can't be Gahr quality, right?
This is a very interesting cultural subject that has my special interest, lets make this a good discussion and don't kill it off please with such replies.
best regards,
