I picked up a set of Oberführer tabs which are either SA (Berlin/Brandenburg) or NSKK. My question is how one might ascertain which group such tabs might be for. The base material is wool badge cloth versus velvet so, these would not be SS. I’m not but if there is a way to tell but I would like to hear views.
GENERALLY:
This pattern tab was prevalent from 1933 through April 1942 but variants of this configuration (from what I’ve read and researched) started in the 20s. Looking at the acorns, they have a ‘loop’ of sorts at the end which makes one immediately think of the classic style gull of the Luftwaffe tab with its ‘loop’ at the base of the gull. I don’t recall ever seeing this feature on a an oakleaf tab having acorns and, where I love the interesting & unique, I found the feature intriguing and compelling.
