UNKNOWN Air Sports Organization, DLV-NSFK Insignia.

After many years of searching for information on this piece of insignia, I just found another piece to the puzzle. When I bought this piece several years ago I had no idea if it was even German, that is until a week ago! A dealer friend of mine found a metal badge with the same design!

The cloth insignia is made of heavy gold bullion thread on a dark blue wool base. To the center is a hole where a pip once was.

I've gone through all my reference material and can find no information pertaining to this piece. Hope a fellow member can help to identify this item.

Other than to say your missing pip was probably a little metal swastika, I can be of no help.
Depending on the size it could be a blazer badge.

Size is 4 inches long, an 2.5 inches tall. The metal piece is slightly larger.

Wonder if this is for one of the glider organizations? Kinda looks like a glider?

It is a cap badge of the organisation Deutsche Luftfahrt.
