fellas - this is the badge that came in the 'eagle cover box' I posted earlier in the 'cases and packets' forum, trying to be clever and failing....
anyhow, what do you make of it please? it seems like stainless steel (?) but isn't marked 'rostfrei' or anything else on the back.
it's sort of a brushed semi-shiny finish front, and fits the oddly red-lined interior perfectly - sitting on a raised area with a recess for the safety pin catch on back. no marks on leathertte case - which has a lift hinge and not the usual push opener catch, but then it IS dated 1934....
by the way there's an impression in the silk or satin box top lining, and fits the badge AND what came along in it: a ribbon'd party buttonhole device!
