stick pin with stone .. ?

    Hi

I got this stick pin with a stone on it, somebody knows more information about this item..?

It's most likely Baltic amber, and this style pin I believe had come with a paper and foil label--it was given for donations, like the WHW items.

About the stone: Indeed, it's called Bernstein. It's actually fossilised "hars" (don't know the english word, it's the sticky bleeding stuf of a tree). Sometimes there are insects trapped into it, pretty cool. It's found on the German northern coast and was in the 20's/30's very popular to make jewellery from.

And fossilized sap is called... amber.

It may have had a DAF cogwheel attached at some pint.

It may look like amber and the pin looks non typical.
