    cap eagle's

    Hi,

Here are some cap eagles to enjoy not the most exciting thing but what the heck,
All these's were from direct source, but it is possible that the small sa one has got mixed up with another that i have ,can't remember which one is which,
Also why is it that all army eagles that i have had from vet's are always 3 pin's or am i just lucky?

yeah, that one with the C-clasp is for the Heer/Kriegsmarine summer tunic...

I like that small M-27 SA/SS cap eagle though, have a closer pic of the rear? I think yours has a similar set of clasps as mine

        Hi Merdock,
nice display, i think these are great items to collect especially at those times when funds can be low weather in between large purchases of militaria or through other occaisions i.e. house purchases, family commitments e.t.c and they can be very rewarding as a collection in thier own right.

I have one of the ones pictured lower right (head facing left). I thought mine was an early SA but then I think I remember seeing one here in the forum that was described as a postal service cap eagle. Is this one SA?

I also have a nice plated tombak one (head facing right). I think this design is one of the most attractive cap eagle styles.

          Thanks,
          Tim

the one you saw was mine, and indeed it is a Postal Service Eagle, worth about 15-25 bucks I'm told

              Thanks Brig.

Merdock, the gold on your KM eagle looks great.

                    Hi Brig,

I'm familiar with the wreathed one's but i almost sure i've seen a police with a unwreathed eagle somewhere.

See this thread for pics of a police eagle without wreath:

                        Hi Everybody,

I just wondered what you make of these two. I had thought they were political, since there's a right-facing eagle shown on page 32 of "Headgear Of Hitler's Germany" Vol. 3. Although having followed this thread and Merdock's badges I'm not so sure. I've never really got into headgear so I only have a few books on the subject.

As you can see, they both seem to be essentially the same badge. The larger has a wingspan of 56.5mm; and the smaller, 37mm.

The smaller one has quite a lot of the gold finish remaining.

                        Thanks for looking.

                        All the best,

                        Toby.

                            Check this out.

I see a Railbahn cap on the e-stand that's wearing the same eagle we thought was a postal service eagle (lower right in Merdock's original post). Looks like they both used the same style (?).
