I've known about this piece for about 6 months and finally got a chance to see it today. Although I am no expert on these items at all, this piece was of fairly high quality. This is really nice, Alex -- and a pleasure to see for those who appreciate fine arts (bronze and porcelain).
The sculptor is Professor Theodor Karner. He worked for the Allach factory and anyone familiar with Allach, which many TR collectors are, will recognize his work. A couple are posted below.
He was regarded as one of Germany's leading artists and is also shown in the rather poor photo below.
