I believe the studentenbund sport shirt eagle is a reproduction. The thread in the swastika should be a more orangish color like these http://germanww2helmets.com/studentbundeagles.htm

To my knowledge the red ones have been around for a long time as a reproduction.

I did a search on WAF but didn't find an earlier discussion, so let me know what you guys think!

I have had one of these red thread eagles for a long time and believe it is a reproduction. I notice there is one on the E-Stand now for 250 Euro:

Mine is for sale in the Bazaar for $25. It glows brightly under blacklight. All the veteran bring-back types I have seen with the original RZM tags had the dull orange color thread.

The one for sale is the same one I have but mine does not glow.

The general consensus I have found amongst collectors is the orange is the correct color for a original.
