    Question: collar tabs 6/16?

Sorry not 6/16, but 6/61.....I would appeciate if someone could tell me what it means when the collar tab of a SA Bluse says "6/61" (6 preceded by a lttle flag on a pole). Does the "61"mean "Standarte 61" and does the little flag mean Reitersturm? I saw this on a bluse whith collar tresse in orange/white (don't have pic, sorry) ...I couldn't find anything in my books and since I really want to learn:

    Many thanks in advance!!!

Reiter-Standarte 61, Hannover was from SA-Gruppe Niedersachsen. The collar tabs and shouderboard underlay should be brown colored.

The collar-piping must be black/white piped.

Thanks Lauren! I'll try to get a pic and send it to you. I believe I saw an orange-white piping.....and not black/white . The tab itself was brown indeed...

          Many thanks Wewelburg and Laurens,
I found out more on the net and in my books; I think I'm on the right track now: 6/61 means Sturm 6 of Standarte 61, which is not Hannover (Brigade 61 is Hannover, not Standarte). IMO it's standarte 61 out of Köslin, which was part of SA Brigade 7 Grenzland-Mitte (Neustettin). The colour of Mitte was orange, which explains the orange-white piping as descibed

            Hi!

I'm sorry, but you're mixing up some things here.

Brigade 7 'Grenzland-Mitte' was from SA-Gruppe Pommern, and has nothing to do with SA-Gruppe Mitte. Pommern used light green collar tabs, and not orange. Even Gruppe Mitte does not use orange in their piping.

I'd would like to see a picture of the tab.

            Send you a PM

              Hi Laurens:

Thanks for your reply! IMHO the facts are as follows:

The numbers on the collar tab say Sturm/Standarte, not Sturm/Brigade. So it's Sturm 6/Standarte 61.

Although Köslin is in Pommern (Pommerania), it was part of Gruppe Grenzland-Mitte and not Gruppe Pommerania, see list:

              SA-Brigade 7 (Grenzland-Mitte) Neustettin:
              - SA-Standarte J 22 (Schlachau)
              - SA-Standarte 54 (Neustettin)
              - SA-Standarte 61 (Köslin)
              - SA-Standarte 268 (Belgard)
              - SA-Standarte R 9 (Neustettin)
              - SA-Reiterstandarte 7 (Schivelbein)

And for the colors (in German):

Apfelgrün mit weiß: Gruppe Thüringen; mit gelb: Gruppe Pommern
Dunkelbraun mit weiß: Gruppe Niedersachsen; mit gelb: Gruppe Westmark
Dunkelweinrot mit weiß: Gruppe Westfalen; mit gelb: Gruppe Ostland
Hellblau mit weiß: Gruppe Hochland; mit gelb: Gruppe Bayr. Ostmark
Marineblau mit weiß: Gruppe Hessen; mit gelb: Gruppe Hansa
Orangegelb mit weiß: Gruppe Elbe (Mitte); mit gelb: Gruppe Neckar (Südwest)
Rosarot mit weiß: Gruppe Südmark; mit gelb: Gruppe Oder
Schwarz mit weiß: Gruppe Berlin-Brandenburg; mit gelb: Gruppe Niederrhein
Schwefelgelb mit weiß: Gruppe Schlesien; mit gelb: Gruppe Franken
Smaragdgrün mit weiß: Gruppe Sachsen; mit gelb: Gruppe Nordmark
Stahlgrün mit weiß: Gruppe Kurpfalz mit gelb: Gruppe Nordsee

The list above can be found on the net BUT these colors are also listed in "Deutsche Uniformabzeichen 1900-1945", Klaus D. Patzwall, reprint of original tables 1937 Rangabzeichen SA & SS.

As soon as I have a scan or picture of the tab, I'll send you a PM!

              Thanks for your help!
