I've never owned a great coat but it looks ok to me. The collartab is for Motorsturm 3 of Motorstandarte 154. I couldn't find 154 on the list in the NSKK/NSFK book. So I don't know what region it's from. The rank tab is for Truppführer. The NSKK usually wore only one shoulder strap ( right shoulder) when they wore two it meant they were serving with the armed forces. The black piping would be for a unit in the Berlin or Niederrhein area.

What extras?there is no unusually extra stuff on this coat, the arm raute is standard and all the others are too, unless your questioning the extra board. anyway here is another coat that has 2 boards and a unit cyphered tab, according to some that shouldnt be,it should either have a blank tab,Or when in wehrmacht service should have the eagle on the other sleeve with no armband.
Im seeing these 2 boards on the last 3 NSKK items discussed here, although questionable with teh cyphers,Im beginning to think two standard boards like this is fine.
Curios to hear Bob Coleman's opinion on 2 standard boards with the cypher arrangement,as this came up recently on an estand tunic.although coat here is questionable Im wondering about this arrangement as its come up a few times now.

Well guys,,Im stumped too,,,but forsure the boards were put on when coat was made,,,,,the other insigina was hand sticked on,,,,maybe after the war,,,who knows,,but all insigina looks to have been on there for years,,just dont know how many years?,,,
Lets hope Bob Coleman can shed some light on this coat,,,thanks to all so far whos opinions have been most helpful so far,,,,,,,Oh,,before I forget,,the armband has been washed so it has the glowing of washed material,,but its cotton,,,and looks and feels original,,,but just has been cleaned,,,Greg

An odd coat. The sleeve eagle should be backed in brown. The one on this mantel is the black backed version found on headgear. The unit collar tab certainly shows heavier wear than any other part of this coat. From the images alone, it is my feeling that the insignia has been added post war. If the double shoulder strap insignia is original to the coat, it would indicate a piece from the early transition in to NSKK Tranportgruppe Todt before the military form shoulder straps were available. I do know that a number of unissued NSKK mantels were found in what was East Germany back in the early 90's.
All had no insignia. Possibly, this is one of those pieces that have been embellished or a piece that has been stripped.
