Diplomatic tunic/coat from the embassy in London

I bought this "coat" a few years ago on auction.
I was told it was from the german embassy in London from before the war.
I got it with a huge clock, that also was supposedly from the embassy.

Is it possible that this is true, the "coat" is for shure tailored.
And sorry for the extremely poor photos, i will take better ones tomorrow
if required.
