    Feldherrnhalle Tunics

I have been fascinated by the standardt Feldherrnhalle and their uniforms for a long time. It's rare to see many buy if you go here:

    http://www.relicsofthereich.com/shop...h=2237&phqu=10

and if possible if this could be imported here for reference I'd be in gratitude if thats possible.

There is so little on this out there in print.

I have questions about the piping on these tunics. Is this color piping on this tunic war time? Also on the shoulder boards, was there a pre war shoulder board from this standardt?

Also I see no insignia on the shoulder boards and wonder what the criteria for wear of boards and insignia would be.

Since this tunic is SA brown I wonder why the collar tabs are not W for Wachtstandardt? Or are these tabs staff of the SA?

Any opinions on how the tabs are sewn to the collars?

I have seen these with candy cane piping and since I have not seen many others am trying to figure out why the piping is the color it is on the tunic at the provided link.

This pattern of collar piping was used for only a few months in 1939, and then the piping was eliminated for enlisted and NCO equivalent ranks. The carmine/white or carmine/silver piping was used by lower leader ranks and below up until 1939 along with the first pattern shoulderboards. The 'W' for Wachstandarte was replaced by the Wolfshook FHH insignia in 1936 or 37 (I have to check for the exact date/year).
So the tunic is correct for a few months in 1939.

Agree with Erich's statements. I think the 'W' was replaced in 1938, but I also have check it first to be sure.

However, I think the tunic in question, is set up together, as in my opinion the underlay of the second pattern shoulderboards has to be light grey.

So would the shoulder boards with the SA brown tunic be complete or incomplete without the wolfhook insignia?

Hi Rich, I'm afraid the wolfhook insignia has nothing to with this tunic either.
