    Another Eagle

Hi...since Colorado posted up his Eagle, I thought I'd post this one up. I picked this up a couple of months ago from a dealer who bought it at a German Militaria fair 5 years earlier. He couldn't put a date on it but thought it was probably 1900-1930 era.

It looks like it's Nickel/Silver plated brass and weighs 28lbs.. and stands 12 inchs high by 12 across. The detail on this casting is quite incredible BTW. And looks to have been displayed on a column or plinth....to heavy as a desk ornament i would have thought.

A mean looking eagle and a nice display piece...Looks almost Luftwaffe.

Any info would be appreciated...I've tried to locate the foundry mark with no success so far.

    Peter

a very nice detailed eagle here. not one for the third reich era in my opinion. they could be made in the 50s to 80s we will not know.
speaks to me more like an american stylised eagle.

                  still, a nice piece.

Thanks for the comments guys...not in the style of an American eagle and it's certainly old. Having a foundry mark, I should be able to trace it...just not sure where to start.
