My experienced thoughts are that the above eagle with a Gold Party Badge attached on a marble base is a complete figment of someone’s imagination and was intended by the ‘taxi driver’ as merchandise for the next flea market. As Stephan expertly pointed out, the Gold Party Badge is an obvious and crude, very modern reproduction. Additionally, I agree with Stephan’s assessment that nobody would dare to put or disgrace a Gold Party Badge in such fashion (during the period) Also, in this vein, there were absolutely no Gold Party Badges sold for personal usage or as a novelty. Last, the marble base is not the size nor type that was usually used during the period. As Kris mentioned, obviously, the eagle is an original eagle being made from a cast pot metal as evidenced by the metal as seen in the cracks in the legs. It’s purpose could have been for any usage to include a home decorator and having no original, military association. However, as I say, these are just my thoughts.
