In your last picture, look at the RZM. the original marking seems to be much more crisp and clear while the later coat of paint has somewhat blurred the marking.

Why not wait a while - you might get opinions from other members if this is a good one or not.

how much did you pay for it, Jon?

      regards,
      Mil.

rzm 3 is for symbols. yours is marked rzm 3/100 for emmrich+schoenig berlin. there is also another good number for a slightly different pattern marked rzm 3/28...most of these were made from pot metal and usually the bird and base were cast separately then the bird soldered onto base. im not sure if your is original or not..

Odd that they are RZM marked "M5". That RZM license prefix was reserved for uniform fittings (buttons, open claw buckles, clips, etc.). The proper RZM license number for desk eagles should be "M3" ("symbols & emblems"), also seen on things like pole tops.

Thanks Guys - Yes my Eagle/Trophy is right as rain - the RZM number on the back is 3/100 for Emmerich & Schoenig, Berlin. I think that all of these were made by that maker?? Mine is a little blurred due to the silver coating over the metal base and the angle/flash.

                          Horst
