Any idea about this SA Pin?

Purchased this SA Pin recently.

I was told that from the markings "STA 173. 79" with ges.geschuzt , it might be from an SA man from standarte 173. Could any provide further information or photos related to this item/

Hi I have looked through my books, i cannot make any notion that these pins would need to have the Standarte on the rear, these were bought by individual SA men on a personal basis for civilian attire, but its possible it could be the standarte number, with the SA i use the ABC....Assume nothing..Believe its possible..Check everything Sean

would it be because the SA during that time was still in its infancy stage and much regulations were not enforced or documented as yet?

They could be, most SA sturms sort of did their own thing, having a Standarte number to the reverse of a lapel pin seems un-needed really, but as we know its possible they could have, i have seen these pin types before, Sean

Im sorry i have none at this time, last time i saw a pin like this was in a place called Mainz buying some SA items, it has the Ges.gesch only to the reverse, best Sean
