some people are not sure about this type, with the pointed diamond on top , but i have one and have seen ones removed from uniforms excactly the same as yours, so i dont have any issues with it

See post #8 in this thread, the patch looks the same to me.

I've had a fake, the one posted looks okay to me. Here's a thread on another forum with more examples to compare it to.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but there is an article in the most recent "Military Advisor" quarterly that indicates that these are not originals, including the one in my collection. The originals are wider and the eagle's face and beak are noticably different.

There is definetly a size difference between the fakes and the originals. I personally like the ones with a flat spot on top of the diamond also.

Garry M had this one. Note how it looks sort of short and wide. I don't have a side by side comparrison photo. Maybe there is one in the article mentioned. If I was looking for one of these patches I would want this style. I'm not saying the other style is not good, I don't know for sure, and it's the style shown in all the reference books. I just like the style of the one in the link a lot more.

Here's a patch I sold a while back. In my opinion (based on period documentation and the fact that this patch is a shirt-removed original) this is the only type of the patch which I personally would be happy to say is original. There is a discussion on these at the link with further pictures:
