    SA sport badge question

    Hello,

I was admiring my collection and picked up an old SA sports badge in gold, I turned it over and noticed like many others mine was numbered.

Could someone please share some information on this subject with me?

1.....Does the number signify an individuals identity or what exactly?

2.....How common are the numbered awards?

3.....Is there a resource where I can look up any personal information on this particular badge?

4.....Are there any other interesting or pertinent facts regarding these SA sport badges?

5.....does anyone know what criteria had to be met in order to win one of these, and what determined whether bronze silver or gold was awarded?

6.....aproximately how many different firms produced these? who were the rarest makers?

sorry for the whole line of questioning......

    Thanks,
    John

My english it not the best, hope you can understand the answers.

    1. The numbers are individual for every sportsaward applicant, the number on badge its the same as written on the "Besitzzeugnis" (proberty testimony?)

    2. the badges were numbered till the middle of 1937 - after then without
numbers should go to ca. 1,1 million but I have never seen ones with a number over 1 million but read this:

Am 10.12.1936 wurde das Abzeichen mit der Nummer 1.000.000 verliehen (Quelle: Verordnungsblatt der Obersten SA-Führung, 9. Jahrgang, vom 1.4.39, Nr. 5 Seite 3)

    3. unfortunately doesnt any lists exist - at least, I never heard from

    4. only one - this badge ( because the high of number ) was awarded in the middle of 1934 for an SA Sportbadges examiner
