SA standard bearers badge?

After going through boxes that end up at the back of the collection I found a few items i'd long forgot. So this is one which I was never 100% on, I believe it's an SA standard bearers badge, more than that I know not.
Is that what it is? Is it Original? What's the 444 for? (teehe) Is it scarce?

I agree--not for a standard bearer but a day badge for a spring parade by Standarte 444.

Thanks for that guys, really helpful. Not ssure why I thought it was a standard bearers badge, I think I saw one similar in a Robin Lumsden book ages ago and that's what it said it was. But anyway, another mystery solved, thank you very much.
