Years ago i had a hollowback type, but never knew if it was original or not, and sold it. It had no mark, so the Question is does anyone have an original hollow or semi hollow badge, or believe they ever made an original like that? thanks These all appear solid.

Steve Wolfe used to have a hollow version which he also offered me. I have photos of it somewhere but they are not digital so I can't post them on this thread.

It was a beautiful badge and extremely well made but not "text book".

I purchased my badge also from Steve. The hollow badge is possible. Steve has probably owned more Coburg Badges than anyone.

          Stan,
I seem to remember seeing it, but only barely. Do you remember whether he had any explanation for the hollow badge?

I guess the hollow back badge is possible but like Erich I would like to know what their use was. On these badges it's best to stick with textbook versions IMO unless you owned the silver one with the ruby Swaz.

              Coburg Badge

I have now located the images of the hollow badge and will now post them. They are not very good but at least you can see the details. The obverse has the two "full stops" or "periods" missing:

                  Coburg Badge

I will be visiting Steve W in September and if he still has this badge I will take better photos. The above are simply photos of photos!

I visited Warlord last week and once again held that beautiful Silver Coburg Badge with the red enamel swas. Of note was that the sword had been seperately applied.

I saw the hollow type coburg badge on the empire auction listing but it has now been removed.

Reverse. It has a large RZM stamp at 7 O'Clock position.

The hollow one is IMO. The other with RZM marking looks like it's potentially a good one, perhaps with a replaced pin and catch? Can't say for certain from these photos, but it certainly looks like a contender. Thanks for posting these, Stan!

I agree 100% with Erich that the hollow backed badge is fake.

does anyone know why the hollow corburg on EMA was removed?

Because it was a fake--once it was recognized it was removed.
