Waiting and holding out for the surface (and offer!) of a 1st type piece makes absolutely no sense.

Whoever bought this badge and "tinnie" will not regret it.

I agree Thorsten, any CB, 1st or 2nd type is extremely rare.

Non that I'm aware of. Don't forget that they were awarded before Hitler came to power.

Here is a nice photo of Gauleiter Martin Mutschmann wearing his at an Alte Garde rally in Hessen-Nassau with that Gauleiter Dr. Meyer.

Actually the award looks very tempting with that uniform and is in center of the others - Meyer resided here in Münster just around the corner at the Aasee where the students have their big mensa for having their meals and coffee nowadays.

That is a very fine picture - thank you very much for sharing.

Yes, an interesting photo. Martin Mutschmann wears his Coburg Badge in the place where most others would wear their EKI, but since he didn't earn that award in WWI (he did serve on the Western Front where he was awarded the Wound Badge, Black Class, which may have been associated with his being discharged for medical reasons in 1916), he proudly wears his Coburg Badge instead. And given the seniority and rarity of the Coburg Badge, plus his holding NSDAP Membership Number 35, who among the Party leadership would have challenged his not winning the Iron Cross?

How was Grimminger involved in the Turkish front? Air service?
