There is a similar one out there for Kreis Bayreuth. It would take some time to fill in the missing GPB numbers. Many of the names have only first initial.

Here is a nice photo of Schaub wearing his CB during the 1938 Gautag Weimar at one of the receptions.

A nice one, Joe. Schaub certainly had an interesting career in the AH Inner Circle. I do wish someone would publish his book -- "In Hitlers Schatten" -- in English!

        A blessed Christmastide, my friend,

The poor quality of the piece, along with the asking price, got me worried.

I have to agree with DHF - the mini stickpin doesn’t have the crisp details. I think there was one offered by another dealer some time ago, also with similar “less crisp” details and would be of concern. I saw both but decided not to purchase. Too risky.

What are the known die flaws of the Coburg Badge?

Its a couple of raised dots very close to each other in the centre of the bottom arm of the swas. Its present on both the 1st and 2nd-patterns.

                  Thanks for your comments.
If I Unterstand correctly, the general opinion is that the Weitze stickpin seems to be a problematic piece

Perhaps a close up photo might be helpful, and maybe another specific thread for discussion? Clear close up photos of the front and back, and the pin (knurling / any knurling) will be helpful too.

                      For comparison.

With the new and better photos, I think your mini is fine.

This is is one I would be comfortable with.

I agree, Andreas -- I would be comfortable with this one, too! And I wonder what the significance of the number "1" on the reverse of this stickpin was...it couldn't be the one prepared for AH, could it...?!

Cheers, my friend, and a very Happy New Year!

I would offer an opposite view. The one from Ratisbon's has some unusual details including the shape of the sword that I would not be comfortable with. Certainly we can agree to disagree, unless we have some documents to prove otherwise. It could still be good, perhaps as a one off jeweller's copy or a private purchase? For now I would probably see what others think. There is a photo somewhere with one in wear and perhaps a very high res close up pic might help?
