          Barney,
we will let some of the seniors weigh in here, but i dont believe that this is a matching pair; rather they have been 'married' over the years..

from my perspective, the oak leaf is more slender on the tab on the right and a little chubbier on the left.. further, the one on the right has a 'crispness' not found on the one on the left.. the bottom stem on each example has a different shape as do the stems to the acorns on each..

finally there are significant differences to the heads, beaks, and necks on each..
the cross-hatching on the breast of the eagle on the right appears to be 'busier' than the one on the left..(that being the case, the piping and the construction on the reverse are remarkably similar)

do these differences automatically eliminate one or the other from period pieces? or just manufacturer differences?

some of the more-tenured collectors dont trust the eagle on the right.. because of that i too am more suspicious of the one on the right.. however, i am far from a final authority in this area.
are you considering buying, selling, or seeking affirmation on a piece in your collection?

you may want to compare the tabs you have with these:

This is the most commonly faked TR PL collar tab. I never like to see the "chicken neck" as is most evident by the eagle neck on the right side tab.
I would want to see better close up images before I say for sure these are post war, but not looking good now.
RZM tags are also reproduced extremely well and used to make one think an item is period.

Mr Jeff Clark is correct, this indeed are reproduced a lot, I have this same rank and color, as well as the dark bown ones with white piping(same rank), mine are the "eagle with wing bump flaw" and one has the infamous red RZM tag (Reichsleitung set) and the other pair(dark brown) has the blue RZM tag. In fact I have the dark brown ones at the bazzar for sale as what they are...fakes!!

Thank you guys for your expertise and your time,I can tell you I brought a blacklight yesterday and gave the tabs the once over,While nothing on the front of the Tabs glowed the stitching that holds the yellow piping to the tabs glows and the RZM Ticket glows,But Hell you guys figured they are crap with your expert eyes alone and I thank you All for That,Barney.
